Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6
Why?
What’s the answer? I wonder.
Consider the whole story of life, starting with a snippet . . .
Watched a movie last night about the tragedy in Benghazi, four years ago, two months before the presidential election.
(Click on the 13 hours above and receive a free trip through cyberspace to the movie sold on Amazon.)
Based on the best-selling book by investigative reporter Mitchell Zuckoff. (Click on Mitchell Zuckoff to be led to his book.)
Non-fiction. True story. Facts told by those who lived to tell. No political bent. But it could spin you into a depression.
Last night?
Second time I saw this true story/movie. Second time I saw the real faces of the men who died and the real faces of those who survived. Sat there on my couch and heard the sobs and sighs of a dear friend sitting next to me, seeing the atrocity for the first time.
Wondered how many even know of Benghazi—what happened there on September 11, 2012. We’ve heard lots of stories and explanations from tale-spinners.
A video incited the violence?
She said it. Straight-faced. To all of us watching and listening and wanting answers to “Why?”
She tried to comfort the widows. The mothers of children who just lost their fathers. All others who loved their lost.
Amazing how a straight face can lie to your face and have you believe what you want to believe.
Last night, we watched the movie unfold like it was a movie. Know what I mean? All so surreal. How could it be real? Our minds and hearts were heavy with grief. Could hardly believe what happened. Wanted to believe the movie was just Hollywood fantasy. Or some first-shooter virtual reality.
But it’s not. And it wasn’t.
Benghazi happened.
And real flesh-and-blood human beings got blown up and shot down. Libyan and American.
Islamic radicals killed Americans. And Americans killed back.
There. I said it. Truth. But there’s MUCH more . . .

Ok.
Go ahead.
Quit here.
BUT . . .
For those who want more than a sound-bite, here we go . . .
Tune in Wednesday . . .
Sorry, but not really, for the cliff-hanger. Because we all love a good cliff-hanger, don’t we?
Till Wednesday, here’s a snippet to ponder . . .
“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.” As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’”
Hebrews 3:7-11
